Annette E. Slack is a graduate of Barnes Hospital School of Nursing (Registered Nurse) and a graduate of University of Missouri-St. Louis earning her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. In 1998 she graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law with a J.D. and a Health Law Certificate, and was the recipient of the David Grant Award. The David Grant Award is awarded annually to students who demonstrate excellence in the representation of the underprivileged and underserved client's in the community. In 2008, Annette graduated from Lindenwood University, where she obtained a Master's Degree in Communication.

Governor Matt Blunt appointed Annette in 2005 to the Missouri Board of Health and Senior Services as an advisory committee member.

Annette is a member of The Missouri Bar, Illinois State Bar Association, The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, where she serves as a Member at Large, Women Lawyers' Association of Greater St. Louis and the Mound City Bar Association.
